About Us

Disabled Inclusion Node Association (DINA) is a women-led disabled person’s organization that aspires to empower disabled persons in our community.

DINA is a dynamic and forward-thinking NGO that firmly believes in the power of sports as a catalyst for change. DINA operates with a vision to create an inclusive society by empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting their active participation in sports, education, health initiatives, and environmental campaigns. With an unwavering commitment to promoting equity and accessibility, DINA strives to break barriers, challenge societal norms, and redefine perceptions surrounding disabilities.

DINA is also a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to achieving gender equality and equity, especially among persons with disabilities through sports. We advocate for gender equality issues and empower women and girls with disabilities in Kenya while building communities that forge meaningful connections to increase our strength and collective impact through sports.

Empowering people with disabilities (PWDs), especially women and girls is a holistic undertaking that involves influencing local services to inform, support, and enable PWDs to influence local decision-making processes, taking an active part in the services they receive. Having a voice and taking control of their lives is essential. It helps persons with all types of disabilities achieve their maximum sustainable independence level as contributing, responsible, and equal participants in society by supporting the programs that provide PWDs with skills and offering platforms and work opportunities that will empower them to be more self-reliant. Disabled Inclusion Node Association (DINA) ensures that out-of-school children with disabilities participate in sports activities and are enrolled back in school, hence they stay active and in good health.

When we provide social services like proper education, quality health care, and accessible public infrastructure (e.g. transportation and buildings) for people with disabilities, we can ensure that more persons with disabilities join the workforce and contribute purely to society. Through civil education, we can inform and educate the public about different types of disabilities and educate them on disability etiquette.

We as a society must address these setbacks and provide equal opportunities for PWDs especially women and girls with disabilities as equal members of our communities.
